Choosing the right roller

Match the roller profile and material to how your trailer supports the hull. Bring a worn roller, a photo of the setup, or the bore size of your spindle — we can help you pick a match in store.

Keel rollers

Run along the keel to carry weight as the boat loads and launches. Common lengths in our range include 4½″, 6″ and 8″, with typical bores such as 17mm or 21mm.

Wobble rollers

Side / guide rollers (ribbed or smooth) that help the hull track onto the trailer. We stock 3″, 4″ and 5″ sizes with 20mm or 26mm bores, plus matching wobble brackets.

Self-centring rollers

Shaped to encourage the hull toward the trailer centreline as you winch on — useful where the boat tends to sit off to one side.

Bow / V rollers

Sit at the winch post or bow stop. Smaller diameters (around 2″–3″) are common; choose a material that suits your hull finish.

Bilge / side rollers

Support the hull sides (bilge) during loading. Flat and longer bilge rollers in our range run from about 4½″ up to 12″.

V blocks

Static (non-rolling) keel supports in rubber or soft polyurethane — a simple option where a fixed V cradle is preferred over a roller.

Materials: rubber, polyurethane or nylon

  • Black rubber — the everyday all-rounder for many trailer setups.
  • Soft red polyurethane — a softer, marking-resistant choice often preferred on fibreglass and gelcoat.
  • Hard blue nylon — tougher and lower-friction; commonly chosen for alloy boats and frequent launching.

If you are unsure, tell us the hull type (alloy or fibreglass) and where the roller sits on the trailer — we will point you to a suitable option from stock.
