Looking for a Muir winch on the Gold Coast? Marine Trade Supplies is the major Muir reseller at The Boat Works, Coomera — a long-standing, strong partnership with Australia’s specialist anchoring-systems manufacturer. Muir windlasses, drum winches and genuine accessories are on display in store and available on the online shop.
Muir is an Australian, family-owned business based in Kingston, Tasmania. Since 1968 they have designed and built anchor winches and anchoring systems in their Tasmanian production facility — from trailerable boats through to large recreational and commercial craft. We are listed on Muir’s dealer locator as a Coomera chandlery partner, and the range is a fixture on our shop floor.
What’s in the range
We stock Muir Storm vertical windlasses (including low-profile and capstan options), Muir drum winches, and the everyday extras that go with a proper install or service:
- Storm vertical windlasses — including VR / VRC models suited to common chain sizes
- Drum winches — including DW08 combo rope/chain packages
- Controls and electrics — deck switches, helm rockers, solenoids and circuit breakers
- AutoAnchor — chain-counter / remote options for Muir systems

Why boaties choose Muir
Muir’s own line is that their equipment is built for the hard life of Australian waters — heavy-duty shafts, gearboxes and corrosion-resistant components, engineered in Tasmania rather than light consumer gear. Whether you are fitting a new bow set-up, replacing a tired windlass, or stocking genuine Muir spares for a job at The Boat Works, it helps to talk to a local dealer who keeps the range on the shelf.
Not sure which Storm or drum model suits your boat length and chain size? Bring the details (vessel length, chain size, rope/chain preference and voltage) into the Coomera store, or call and we will help you narrow it down.
