Featuring the fastest line speeds in our range, 3-speed Orbit Winches offer significant advantages in many racing and cruising situations that require rapid line retrieval. In the initial stages of trimming or hoisting sails, the high-speed first gear reduces the time and effort required to adjust sails efficiently. The winch can be shifted to the second and third gears as load increases, using their greater mechanical advantage for precise control of heavy loads. The added versatility provided by the extra gear results in improved performance on the water. Orbit Winches combine impressively light weight and low line entry heights with remarkably easy service. The fully machined aluminium drums feature the same Power Ribs that many will recognize from Andersen Stainless Steel Winches®, well-known for their impressive line grip, smooth control, and minimal rope wear. Orbit Winches sizes 30QT and larger are equipped with the unique, patented QuickTrim self-tailer. This award-winning innovation allows sailors to easily and safely ease line tension to make minor sail trim adjustments without removing the winch handle or taking the line out of the self-tailer.
