Josco – Polishing Compound Green Ss x Large | SSXJ is designed to address common challenges faced by mechanics and tradespeople when achieving a high-gloss finish on metal surfaces. This polishing compound offers exceptional results, making it ideal for workshops, onsite jobs, and mobile repairs.
The Brumby SSX Polishing Compound is ideal for polishing applications on copper, brass and stainless steel where a high gloss finish is desired. For the best results, use the compound with a Josco Loose Leaf Calico Buff.
Josco also has three other types of polishing compounds available in its range, in both standard and large sizes. They are all intended for use on surfaces without major blemishes, resulting in little metal removal and will achieve a bright result. Any small scratches that are produced by cutters can subsequently be removed with the use of a finishing compound.
Directions for use:
Most buffs have a tapered centre bore, and
may be mounted on the left or right of your
grinder using a tapered spindle.
Select the correct buffs and compounds
for your job. Initial cutting can be done with a
fastcut compound and either a stitched sisal
or a stitched rag buff followed by a polishing
compound and a loose leaf buff. For best
results, never use different compounds on
the one buff keep a separate buff for each
compound.
Apply the compound across the face of the
rotating buff for a few seconds, taking care
not to apply too much compound which will
overload the buff. It is far better to apply a little
compound more frequently than to over dress
the buff.
After applying the compound to the buff,
bring the work piece into contact with the buff
and with light pressure, move back and forth
across the job.
After polishing, remove any compound
residue left on the work piece with mineral
turpentine or methylated spirits, or warm soapy
water.
