Lantor Coremat Xi is a high-performance nonwoven core material engineered to enhance laminate thickness, improve surface finish, and optimise resin distribution in composite applications. Designed specifically for open mould processes, it provides a cost-effective solution for increasing stiffness and reducing overall weight without adding significant complexity to the manufacturing process.

Manufactured from a polyester-based nonwoven structure incorporating microspheres, Coremat® Xi creates a low-density core within the laminate, allowing fabricators to build thickness efficiently while maintaining excellent mechanical performance. Its unique styrene-soluble binder enables the material to conform easily to complex shapes and tight radii, ensuring smooth lay-up and consistent results even in intricate moulds.

A distinctive feature of Coremat® Xi is its integrated blue resin indicator, which helps identify dry areas during lamination, improving process control and laminate quality. The material offers excellent wet-out characteristics and is compatible with a wide range of resin systems, including polyester, vinyl ester, epoxy, and phenolic resins.

Coremat® Xi also functions effectively as a print-through barrier, delivering a smoother surface finish while reducing fibre pattern visibility. Its optimised resin flow and strong mechanical properties contribute to improved stiffness, compression resistance, and long-term durability in finished composites.
